Outline of the company    
The Prochindustria does not yet boast of a long history but…..

it came into being in 1986 as a natural evolution of the former “sweetmeat” activity which, since 1962, has led our family to become ever more expert in the sector of Sicilian craftsman-made confectionary, so good and so full of symbolism and tradition.

At the outset Prochindustria was engaged in the production of a wide range of processed seeds for the confectionery industry and for drinks.

In the mid-nineties, the growth of the company, the market trends and the wish to expand abroad induced Prochindustria to concentrate on almond-based semi-processed products in order to gain a place in the important European markets.

Between 1999 and 2000 Prochindustria became the most important Italian company in the production of unrefined Marzipan and Persipan, exporting 89% of the 2,600 tons produced.

Halfway through the year 2000 a new plant for the processing and roasting of Almonds was installed, which investment permitted the completion of the list of products thus giving the firm access to new and important markets.

In 2001 the new trademark NATURAL was adopted in order to give us a new logo which better illustrates our present aims both as to type of product and respective markets.
The last syllable of the logo underlines the constant involvement of the Aliotta family in the firm. We plan to use it in the transition period as the new name of the Company.

 

The years 2001 and 2002 will be years of radical change and new impulse.
The Company will move to the North East of Italy in order to be closer to the European and national markets.
The “Distretto Regionale dell’Alimentare” is where the legal head-office of the Company is to be installed and where a new factory specifically designed for the typical production, is under construction.
Brief details of the new factory are as follows:
- total area about 25,000 sq.mts.
- immediately covered area of 6,500 sq.mts. with single working areas, distinct and free from “cross contamination”
- refrigeration for raw materials and finished products.

The realization of our project has been supported and facilitated by the Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
